Panamusiq has signed Tanzanian live act and musician Grace Matata on a long term management contract. Grace is a 2015 Kilimanjaro Music Awards nominee and afro-soul & RnB singer/songwriter from Tanzania.
She describes her music as “a unique blend of Swahili soul, RnB and jazz with a special touch of poetry and light, heartwarming melodies”.
Grace has garnered not only a considerable but also loyal fan base notably after dropping her single “Free soul” which shook the airwaves and made her a force to be reckoned with. She released her first critically acclaimed album entitled Nyakati in 2013. Some of her other successful singles include “Wimbo”, “Uwe wangu”, “Hello” which she collaborated with Maua Sama and “Tabibu” which is a duet with another Tanzania’s beloved bongofleva/zouk songbird, Mwasiti.
Her latest release, “Utanifaa”, got ranked high in many radio charts across Tanzania and East Africa. Since then, she went on to create a living legacy as one of very few Tanzania live performing female musicians. In this respect she has put together an impressive 4 elements band and has shared the stage and collaborated with A-list musicians such as Lady JD, Didier Awadi (Senegal) and Wyre Lovechild (Kenya).
Some of the highlights of her career were performing at the DoaDoa 2016 in Uganda, Zanzibar Beach & Watersports Festival in 2015 and the Zanzibar International Film Festival in 2014.
Grace is currently working on her second album and her home base venue is Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam where she performs weekly on Fridays.
Panamusiq currently represents Anto NeoSoul (Kenya), Chess Nthusi (Kenya), 36 States (Nigeria), Pierre Bae (Cameroon) and now Grace Matata in its home ground Tanzania.
